The old song by Bill Haley and his Comets, “13 Women,” has been running through my head.
I’ve been asked to speak Saturday morning during a panel discussion at the Women’s Leadership Conference in Muscatine. More than 40 women have registered and there are about half again that many women who will be there as presenters. It looks as if I may be the only guy there. Pray for me.
Muscatine will be the site of the third women’s conference held in Iowa since Women 2 Leadership, a non-profit organization, was created by Rep. Dawn Pettengill, R-Mount Auburn,, in response to legislation on gender balance for boards and commissions statewide.
I will be speaking as part of a panel discussion on working with the media.
It should be interesting.
