Forget the game; But don’t miss the ISU band in Muscatine

Mark your calendars right now. You won’t want to miss the Muscatine High School football team’s home game on Sept. 7.

Who are the Muskies playing? I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. The 340-member Iowa State University Marching Band will perform before the game at MHS Stadium and again at halftime, according to Jeffery D. Heid, MHS director of bands.

The Muskie marching band will join with the ISU band to perform the national anthem, Heid said in an email to parents. He said the combined performance may be directed by Josh Kassmeyer, a MHS alum.

“That last part is planned, but not in stone,” Heid said.
