Today is a writing day, although not necessarily a day for blogging — or wasting time on Facebook or elsewhere on the web.

I have letters of recommendation to write, a column to finish for my day job and freelance stories to finish.
The pile of work that must be done today is daunting enough that it leaves me hoping Ernest Hemingway was wrong about bleeding at his typewriter. I don’t want to have a mess to clean up when I’m finally done.
Luckily, I don’t have to write The Sun Also Rises or A Farewell to Arms. But I still may try to emulate the lean, hard, athletic narrative prose for which the New York Times praised Papa.
For sure, today’s blog post has to be lean and quick, so I’ll leave you with a Haiku:
Write, write, write, I must
I laugh in face of challenges
Beats digging ditches.
It does indeed beat digging ditches !
Hi, Tom. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
So you sought inspiration, or motivation, at the legislative forum. Time well spent?
I wasn’t really seeking inspiration. Just went because it’s one of those things I feel as if I should attend.
