At least for now, I am taking a vacation from Facebook — news many of my family and friends won’t believe. And when — if — I go back, I plan to greatly narrow down my list of friends.
My problem isn’t with Facebook. The problem is I don’t like the way I have allowed it to consume my time. I have allowed it to cause rifts in my family, maybe cost me a good friendship and irritate me when the Buster Blockers of my Facebook world are trying to jerk my chain. My addiction to Facebook has become more trouble than it is worth and I aim to take control. My time will be better spent reading books, magazines and newspapers.
And besides, any thing worth saying is better said here or in the columns of news and commentary available to me in my job.
Facebook will just have to get along without me — at least for now.
