Serving up a Sunday morning

BreakfastThis is what can happen on a Sunday morning when:

  • We are out of coffee when I stumble into the kitchen.
  • Janet wakes up not feeling well.
  • I run out to buy coffee. Without. Any. Supervision.

Some $40 lighter than when I entered the local Hy-Vee, I walked out with: Eggs, butter, orange juice, potatoes, strawberry jam, bread, bacon, spinach, feta cheese, two Sunday newspapers and two chocolate doughnuts (for Macy and Jacob.) Oh, yeah, and COFFEE.

I came home and made spinach and feta omelettes, which were served with hash browns, bacon, toast and jam, orange juice and coffee.  It was pretty good, if I do say so myself. 🙂

And at least I didn’t do all of this and then forget to buy the coffee.

An addendum: I have to admit that everything didn’t go well because I somehow managed to break a plate while cleaning up the mess and washing the dishes. It may not be wise to let a big, clumsy guy into the kitchen.
