The front page of the Muscatine Journal on Saturday, Jan. 23, demonstrates nice work by a number of people, including reporters Melissa Regennitter and Erin Tiesman. Special recognition should also go to News Editor Rusty Schrader for his packaging of the story on the homicide investigation. Rusty took a sow’s ear — a story without art — and turned it into a silk purse. We don’t often do this kind of packaging. And after seeing this, I think we should do it more often. The story by Melissa was also very solid.
