A follow-up: More on my mom’s homemade dinner rolls

Wednesday

In a post earlier this week, I wrote about the homemade rolls my mom baked just for me for Christmas.

Well, I should know by now to never write about food and include a photo without including a recipe. Sure enough, a few people have asked for it. And here it is direct from Dear, Old Mom. You’ll have to contact her if you have any more questions:

No Knead Rolls

empty
Thursday evening. They didn’t last long.

Heat 2 C milk, remove from heat and add 1/2 C shortening.

In a large bowl put 3 cups flour, 1/2 C sugar, 1/4 Tsp. salt, 1 Tsp. baking powder & 1/4 Tsp baking soda. Add milk and stir.

Dissolve 1 pkg yeast in little warm water, add yeast to flour mixture and stir well. Add 2 C more flour and stir.

Cover bowl tightly with foil and place in refrigerator overnight or several days. Do not punch dough down. Form into rolls, place in greased pan and light rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees about 20-30 minutes.
