Once in awhile, I get to write something for my day job, or, sometimes, even a freelance assignment for someone else. The great thing about both of these types of assignments is that I get paid for doing them unlike virtually everything else I write here.
Such is the case with the monthly column I wrote on behalf of Muscatine Center for Social Action, my employer, for the local newspaper. And the really cool thing about this morning’s effort is that a newspaper reader felt compelled to respond before 10:00. A nice lady, who didn’t leave her name, dropped off this jug of laundry detergent.
We’re hoping to receive many more of these in the days to come.
If, by some chance, you are a Muscatine-area reader of this blog who had not yet heard of this laundry detergent drive, please consider making a donation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at the front desk at MCSA, 312 Iowa Ave. Please come to the front desk and ask for it if you need help to bring the detergent into the building.
