On Fridays, I drive late in the day from Dubuque, where I work, to Muscatine for the weekend. That means scant time after work for blogging.
So an idea hit me recently: Photo Friday. The idea is to take an interesting photo at some point in the week, post it to the blog whenever I have time and schedule it to publish on Friday evenings. That way I can just hang out and relax on Friday evenings.
This is the inaugural effort — a collection of photos taken on a recent lunch trip to Dawgs, a Chicago-style hot dog stand at 245 W. Second St. in Dubuque.
Bon appétit and have a great weekend.
Thanks for the “follow,” Chris. Don’t encounter many other Iowans through the WPC, so it was great seeing a Dubuque post. I’m a transplant to Iowa, though my family roots are in NE Iowa (Oelwein). I’ve not be to Dubuque in the 22 years I’ve lived here but I will have to make a trip to Dawgs sometime. Look forward to following your posts.
I’m familiar with Creston. I grew up in Chariton and have relatives in southwest and south-central Iowa. It is nice to find another Iowan blogging here.
Mmm, my kind of food. And from such a cute little place. Well, the owner might not appreciate “cute,” but it is.
Yummy!! I just told my wife we need to visit this stand in Dubuque sometime. We are in West-Central Minnesota. She just rolled her eyes at me when I told her it was for a hot dog place. Looks like I’ll be traveling alone some day.
I’m still pretty new to Dubuque, but I’ve been on the receiving end of plenty of eye rolls. There are plenty of other things to do and see in Dubuque. It’s a neat place. If you come and stay overnight, I’d recommend looking for a place on AirBnB. I know there are some condos available there that are in the millwork district and they look really neat.
Awesome!!! Thanks for the info. I will have to look into that.
